A Windows-based trading platform and a first-to-market live trading application for iPhone and Android help users significantly improve their trading experience.
Client and challenge
City Index is one of the world leaders in Spread Betting, Contracts for Difference (CFDs), and margined Foreign Exchange (FX). Its parent company, GAIN Capital Holdings Inc (NYSE: GCAP), is one of the largest retail and institutional trading providers globally. City Index customers have access to 12,000+ markets to choose from across Forex, Indices, Shares, and Commodities.
The client turned to EffectiveSoft to develop a Windows-based trading platform accompanied by trading applications for mobile devices. The main requirements were high speed, excellent performance, and continuous running without interruptions.

The desktop trading application, AT Pro, is designed for experienced users interested in powerful analytic tools and high performance. Thanks to the optimized RAM usage, the application can work for weeks without shutting down.
The finance mobile app, City Trading™, is designed for iOS- and Android-based devices and provides full and secure access to the trading accounts on the phones and tablets. The app users can place orders directly from charts and make informed decisions irrespective of where they are.
The City Trading™ mobile application became Financial Times Innovation of the Year and was awarded the title “Best Mobile Trading Platform” at the MoneyAM Online Finance Awards.

The trading solution enables its users to monitor the changes on the volatile financial markets and perform various actions in the personal account, such as:
